The Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana is a 3-year family
medicine program sponsored by The University of Montana and affiliated with the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network.
We exist to provide superior,  comprehensive education in Family Medicine.


We are committed to developing family physicians who are compassionate,
clinically competent, and motivated to serve patients and communities in the
rural and underserved areas of Montana.

The Montana Geriatric Education Center (MTGEC), at University of Montana, which administers a Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) grant funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), is an interdisciplinary center whose purpose is to improve health outcomes for older adults by integrating geriatrics into primary care and developing a healthcare workforce that maximizes patient and family engagement.

Montana WWAMI provides medical education and training to students, residents, and practicing physicians throughout the vast state of Montana and gives Montana residents access to high-quality medical education and cost-effective in-state tuition. Montana offers a variety of quality learning opportunities for medical students in rural, community and underserved practices throughout the state.
